He Gave All He Had And Became Eternal Light Pure Love Living Memory Endless Grace Heaven's Gift Lasting Hope Timeless Spirit Guardian Angel

Derrick Kwame Ameyaw Antwi—affectionately known as Nana Kwame—left this world too soon on April 26, 2021, at the age of 30. Though his time with us felt brief, the light he carried within him continues to glow in the hearts of all who knew him. A son, brother, leader, and beacon of faith, Derrick’s life was a testament to quiet strength, boundless generosity, and an unwavering commitment to lifting others.
A Life Rooted in Purpose
Born in Accra, Ghana, to Kwadwo Antwi and Rita Amoafoa Agyeman, Derrick was the first son and third child among four siblings. Even as a young boy, his brilliance and diligence shone brightly. He attended Prince of Peace Preparatory School in North Kaneshie, later excelling at Star Avenue Primary School and Junior High School in Kokomlemle. His academic journey culminated in stellar Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results, earning him admission to New Juabeng Secondary School in Koforidua.
Derrick’s thirst for knowledge led him to the University of Cape Coast, one of Ghana’s most prestigious institutions. After graduating, he joined Bayport Financial Services (BFS) as a national service personnel in 2014. His dedication quickly turned into a permanent role, and he rose to become Logistics Manager—a position he balanced while pursuing a Master’s in Total Quality Management at the University of Professional Studies, Accra
A Heart That Lifted Others
To know Derrick was to witness grace in motion. Radiant, robust, and ever-polite, he carried himself with a gentle strength that put others at ease. He was a giant tree of wisdom and generosity—his cousins often sought his counsel, inspired by his deep-seated belief in education’s transformative power.
But Derrick’s kindness extended far beyond his family. He quietly clothed the needy, fed the hungry, and gave hope to those overlooked by the world. For him, faith was not a passive creed but a call to action. “A person’s actions are a deep reflection of their character,” he believed—and he lived this truth daily.
A Legacy of Faith and Service
Raised in a devout Christian home, Derrick’s spiritual journey began at Adabraka Official Town Presby with his mother. Later, he worshipped at Good Shepherd Methodist Church, Bubuashie, and finally found his spiritual home at Bethel Methodist Church, Kokomlemle. There, he blossomed into a pillar of the congregation.
As a dedicated member of the Youth Fellowship, Derrick served as Circuit Treasurer (2015–2018) and Society Chaplain (2016–2019). His calm leadership, love for prayer, and passion for prison and hospital ministries touched countless lives. In 2010, he joined the Lay Preachers Program, driven by a desire to deepen his faith and spread the Gospel. Just weeks before his passing, his relentless devotion earned him the Superintend Minister’s Award for Committed and Hard-Working Members—an honor he received posthumously.
The Good Fight, Finished Well
In his final moments, Derrick whispered a prayer that encapsulated his life’s journey: “Thank you, God… I have done it.” These words, brimming with peace and resolve, remind us that he truly “fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7).
Though our hearts ache with his absence, we find solace in knowing Derrick now rests in the arms of his Savior. We pray he is crowned with the righteousness he so faithfully pursued—a crown bestowed not by mortal hands, but by the Eternal Judge he loved and serve.
Carrying His Light Forward
Derrick’s legacy lives on in every life he touched—through scholarships for aspiring students, meals shared with the hungry, and prayers whispered in hospital wards. In his memory, we invite you to continue his mission of compassion.
“If your axe is dull and you don’t sharpen it, you have to work harder to use it” (Ecclesiastes 10:10). Let us honor Derrick by sharpening our own resolve to love fiercely, give generously, and walk humbly—just as he did.
Rest well, dear Nana Kwame. Your race was run with grace, and your light remains eternal. May 5, 1990 – April 26, 2021
